A total of 4,412 candidates were successful out of a total of 5,300 who sat for the examination. Among the successful candidates, 251 had First Class. On the other hand, a total of 888 candidates failed the final Bar examination conducted in November 2023.

Among the top 10 universities that produced the highest number of First Class graduates, the University of Ibadan has emerged as the institution with the highest number of First Class graduates from the November 2023 Nigerian Law School Bar Exams of which out of the 144 students from UI who were called to the Bar, an impressive 27 earned First Class honors. Followed by Afe Babalola University which produced 21 First Class graduates out of 226 who were called to Bar, Babcock University emerged 3rd on the list with 20 First Class graduates, Obafemi Awolowo University emerged 4th on the list with 18th First Class graduates and Benson Idahosa University emerging 5th with 12 First Class Law graduate.

Other institutions that secured spots in the First Class rankings include University of Lagos, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Lagos State University, Rivers State University, Abia State University, Bowen University, Adeleke University, Ebonyi State University, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, University of Jos, University of Calabar and University of Ilorin.

In addition, statistics also showed that the Lagos campus of the Nigerian Law School recorded an outstanding performance, producing 61 First Class graduates out of the 961 students enrolled there, making it the highest among all the campuses that produced First Class graduates for the year 2023/2024 Bar finals. Followed by the new Law School campus, Port Harcourt recording a total of 56 First class out of 1018 at the Law School campus.

In conclusion, the Call to Bar ceremonies, which commences on Tuesday, concluded yesterday with the successful candidates being called to the Nigerian Bar (the largest Bar in Africa) as Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court.
