This week, the Elawyer community celebrates a proud moment as our founder, Mina Obetan, is nominated for The Future Awards Africa 2025 in the Law category.

The Future Awards Africa, now in its 19th edition and themed “Threads of Legacy”, honours young Africans who are shaping the continent through innovation, excellence and impact. Seeing Mina’s name on that list feels like a full-circle moment for everyone who has watched her vision grow from an idea into a movement.

When she started Elawyer, Mina wanted to create a space where young lawyers could find their voice, learn, debate and lead. Six years down the line, that vision has evolved into one of the most vibrant legal platforms in Nigeria, inspiring a generation to see law as more than statutes and cases. Her work speaks to the power of purpose and the importance of building something that outlives the creator.
Mina’s nomination is not just about personal recognition. It reflects the larger story of what she stands for: accessible law, innovation, and community. Through Elawyer, she has redefined how young legal minds engage with the profession, blending intellect with creativity and proving that the future of law is not waiting to happen; it is already here.

At Elawyer, we are proud to see our founder stand among Africa’s finest young leaders. Whether she takes home the award or not, this moment already belongs to her and to every young lawyer who believes that integrity, brilliance and courage still matter.
