The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Mrs. Ifeoma Henrietta Ezewuike, a 50-year-old widow and fashion designer, for attempting to smuggle 1.3 kilograms of cocaine disguised as a pregnancy bump.
According to the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, Ezewuike-who runs Golden Star Creation in Okota, Lagos, and is a mother of one was intercepted on Friday, August 22, at a Jibowu bus terminal in Yaba while en route to Abuja with the concealed drugs. A search of her residence later uncovered 200 grams of a chemical substance used in processing cocaine.
The suspect claimed she inherited the drug business from her late husband despite managing her fashion brand for over 20 years.
In another operation, NDLEA officers seized 90 parcels of “Loud,” a strong variant of cannabis weighing 48.6 kilograms, hidden in three cartons of kitchen sinks imported from the United States. The interception was carried out on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, by the Directorate of Operation and General Investigation (DOGI) at a courier company in Lagos.
Elsewhere in Adamawa, operatives raided the home of a notorious dealer, Idris Garba, who escaped by scaling a fence. However, his associate, 55-year-old Boniface Nnaji, was arrested at Rumde Baru, Yola South. The raid led to the recovery of a Toyota Thundra truck and a Toyota Yaris, alongside 354,480 pills of tramadol of different strengths.
Similarly, in Kogi, NDLEA officers seized 5,000 capsules of tramadol, 400 ampoules of pentazocine injection, and 200 ampoules of diazepam injection from Neche Okonkwo, who was arrested at Idah waterside after transporting the substances from Onitsha across the River Niger on Wednesday, August 20.

Buhari Ibrahim (25) and Mansur Musa (24) were caught with 5,850 capsules of pregabalin at Zangon Dakata Ungogo on Tuesday, August 19.

452,070 opioid pills were recovered from the residence of Rabilu Mukhtar, now on the run, in Rangaza, Ungogo LGA.

On the same day, Buhari Idris (35) was arrested at Tashan Rami with 140 litres of codeine syrup.
