The House of Representatives has recently sanctioned a bill aimed at increasing the salaries, perks, and additional benefits of judicial officers across Nigeria. Among these adjustments, the Chief Justice of Nigeria is set to receive a monthly package totaling N5.39 million.
President Bola Tinubu submitted an executive bill to the Green Chamber, outlining various salary revisions for judicial officials. Justices of the Supreme Court will see their total package rise to N4.21 million, while the President of the Court of Appeal will receive a monthly package of N4.48 million.
Similarly, justices of the Court of Appeal will earn a total monthly package of N3.73 million, while other judicial officers, including the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court and various state court leaders, are slated to receive N3.53 million per month.
These packages include basic salaries and various allowances covering expenses such as fuel, maintenance, personal assistance, entertainment, and medicals. Additionally, the House approved other job-related allowances, including leave allowances, duty tour allowances, and severance gratuity, with a motor vehicle loan option available for eligible officers.
