A Chinese man, Frank Geng-Quangrong, has been sentenced to death by hanging in Kano State High Court for the murder of his girlfriend, Ummukalthuum Buhari, following a disagreement between them. Despite his denial of intentional killing and his pleas for leniency, Quangrong received the death penalty from Justice Sunusi Ado Ma’aji.
During his testimony, Quangrong asserted that he stabbed his girlfriend in self-defense in September 2022, alleging that she had grabbed his testicles. He maintained that the act was not premeditated but a reaction to her actions.
“I didn’t kill Ummulkhulsum intentionally but stabbed her in self-defence after she grabbed my testes,” Ouangrong said.
