Geremi Njitap’s 16-year marriage has come to an end following a revelation from DNA tests indicating that his wife’s ex-partner is the biological father of their twins.
Former Chelsea and Cameroon footballer, Geremi Njitap, has initiated divorce proceedings against his wife, Laure Fotso, after genetic testing confirmed that her former partner fathered their two children.
Geremi, aged 45, stated in legal filings that the twins were conceived during a brief relationship his wife had prior to their marriage, which has deeply affected their marital harmony.
In court documents, he accuses her of damaging their relationship with repeated dishonesty and asserts that no children were born during their marriage.
Initially, Laure claimed that the twins, born in June 2008, were Geremi’s, which prompted their marriage. However, the DNA test results shattered this belief, causing significant emotional distress to Geremi.
He further alleges that his wife inflicted psychological harm on him.
Geremi, known for his football career with Chelsea and Real Madrid, made 109 appearances for Chelsea from 2003 to 2007, scoring four goals.
